More than 200 vendors and artists from around the country will display and sell their artwork on the streets of Fairhope next week as the 62nd Annual Arts and Crafts Festival kicks off March 14-16.

The 2013 Arts and Crafts Festival attracted more than 300,000 visitors to the area and the festival was recently chosen as one of the top 20 events in the southeast by the Alabama Bureau of Tourism. According to that report, The Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival and National Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores come in at the top two spots among event promotions staged over a single weekend.

The festival, an Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce event, was also voted as No. 23 out of 100 Best Predominantly Classic and Contemporary Craft Shows in the nation by Sunshine Artist Magazine. The show is also ranked in the top 20 by the Southeast Tourism Society.“The Arts & Crafts Festival in Fairhope has a national reputation for Southern hospitality displayed by our wonderful committee, volunteers, the city and local businesses,” Darrelyn Bender, president/CEO of the Chamber, said. “The economic impact of this festival is felt along the entire Eastern Shore.”
Festival hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily and there is no admission fee. BRATS will provide a shuttle services from shopping centers at the intersection of Fairhope Ave. and Greeno Rd. for $2 each way.
There will be free valet parking for bicycles behind the Fairhope Museum of History and handicapped parking will be available in the Municipal Parking lot on Bancroft.  For more information call 251-621-8222 or click here.

This year’s show is expected to include 150 exhibiting artists. An expanded Children’s Activity area will be located on Equality Street, with bubble making, hula hooping demonstrations, face painting, a bounce house, gyroscope, and more.
Bike Valet Station Set Up For Festival: A bicycle valet station will be available at this year’s Fairhope Art and Craft Festival. This free service is offered to any cyclist who wants to visit the festival by bike. The City of Fairhope’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and the Baldwin County Trailblazers are working together to organize this free and secure bicycle parking area. The Bike Valet area will be located adjacent to the Handicapped Parking area off North Bancroft Street and behind the FairhopeMuseum.
Volunteers will check in and oversee the bicycle parking area at the festival on March 14, 15, and 16th. Both groups hope the valet station will offer visitors a safe and convenient place to keep their bikes while they enjoy the festival.
The station will be open each day of the festival during normal festival hours. Volunteers that are interested in helping manage the station are encouraged to contact the Trailblazers at
